D-TECT's D-LUXE D-PACKER V1.0 (DDD)
by Adam of D-TECT
What is DDD?
DDD is a tool especially developed for sysops and modemtraders.
The DDD enables you to repack, show and read the uploaded (down-
loaded) files just by pressing some keys. The advantage of DDD is
that the whole repack process is much easier and faster than typing
the whole command in the CLI/Shell or pressing the right gadget in
DirectoryOpus.
What does DDD?
The DDD loads and shows the directory-file that is created by
AmiExpress (e.g. "dir5"). Now you have the possibility to mark the
file(s) you want to repack. After finishing this the repack process
will be started. DDD will identify the needed decrunch tool (DMS,
LHA...) and start it.
How to install this tool?
When you start DDD a new screen will be opened. Pick up the
menuitem 'Project/Open Dirfile' and a filerequester will appear.
Now choose the directory-file where you wish to repack from. DD
will load that file and display it on screen. Pick up 'Set Files
Dir' from menu. A directory-requester will appear. Choose the
directory that contains the uploaded files. Using the menuitem 'Set
Tools Dir' you can choose the directory which contains the repack-
tools (usually the 'c' dir). Now pick the menu 'Defaults/Edit'. A
window will open. Enter the destination path (drive) e.g. 'df1:' or
'df2:' in the 'Path to Target' gadget. The last step is picking
'Calling/Edit'.
Here you must edit the right calling syntax like this:
'Tool' means the name of the tool (not necessary, just for you).
'Suf.' (Suffix) means the right suffix that will be always used to
indicate the tool. Suffix is max. 3 chars.
Calling means the command string (as you would type it in CLI) but
instead of the pathes you just insert the letters 'F' or 'D', where
'F' stands for the source path and 'D' stands for the destination
path (the existance of 'F' is a must!)
NOTE: In the 'Calling' and the 'Suf.' field you may only use small
letters (except 'F' and 'D' which are always capital letters).
Here are some examples:
Tool: Suf.: Calling:
-------------------------------------------------
DiskMasher dms dms write F to D
LHarc lha lh x F D
LHarc lzh lh x F D
PPMore pp ppmore F
Type txt type F
After you've finished editing the callings you've the possibility
to save the whole defaults: 'Defaults/Save' -> The defaults will be
saved in the 's' directory in a file called 'DDDPrefs'.
An example for use:
Let's say you want to repack the latest uploaded file. Start DDD.
If you've DDD already in memory pick up 'Defaults/Reload Workfile'.
The workfile (directory-file) will be loaded automatically. Go to
the end of the file using CTRL+CRSR DOWN or END. Move the bar over
the wished file and press RETURN (You can also use the mouse to
select the file). The file will be marked as the first file to
repack. Start the repack-process with right AMIGA+r (or by choosing
Project/Repack). The DDD will hand over the right pathes to the
right tool.
The other functions:
'Project/'

'Show sets' all sets (first 6 bytes) will be shown.

'Set Tools Dir'

have any questions, bug reports or a cool idea to improve this tool
you can contact me in all D-TECT boards (also just for fun).
Bye Adam/D-TECT
